| In recent years, importance has been attached to the evaluation of Social Sciences and Humanities in evaluation of Universities. Then, what is the inner mechanism of evaluation of arts in Universities of each main evaluation system? How to exalt its ranking of arts for the regular higher institutions, especially those universities of late-development of arts? In order to resolve these doubts, the thesis separates the evaluation system of arts from those three evaluation systems and systematically explores and comparatively studies them respectively.This thesis is divided into four chapters: Chapter one gives an introduction of these comprehensive evaluation systems of arts applied by the three main evaluative institutions and their respective weigh treatment on arts of their own school; chapter two compares and analyzes the immaturity and differences of these three systems; chapter three interprets the specific causes from vertical and lateral aspects; the last chapter analyzes the system applied by Yanshan Universtiy and proposes some advice on the way to improving its arts and comprehension place in competition among the universities.Based on the above analysis, we can get the following basic understanding: firstly, an oligarch competitive phase has come into being on the evaluation of arts in Chinese universities. This phase has formed huge pressure and challenge on the evaluated universities and this situation will continue because of the maintained desire for university evaluation; secondly, these three evaluation systems are different on dealing with the weight of university evaluation, on the choice and weight of concrete index and on the calculation method. Therefore, the outcomes of evaluations on same objects are often different based on these three evaluation systems respectively. All of these evaluation systems emphasize the actual output, especially the significance of higher level"scientific research output"and"course output"; thirdly, this kind of evaluation are not in favor of the universities of undergraduate teaching, especially those universities of late-development of arts; fourth, Yanshan University has late-development of arts and the key for it is to turn the comprehensive strength of arts into high level"scientific research output"and"course output"in order to upgrade its ranking of arts and comprehensive ranking as well. |
