With the development of China's higher education, the quality of it draws more and more attention. To improve the quality of higher education, the key point is to think highly of undergraduate teaching. And as the main component of the higher education, teachers in university become the focus of interests too. Many provinces and universities carried out their own eminent teacher appraisement and selection project after the national 'eminent teacher appraisement and selection' was carried out. However, as the basic problem of this assessment, there are many problems in university teacher's assessment.In this background and situation, this dissertation theoretically analyzes and discusses education assessment, teacher assessment, and university teacher assessment, especially the forth assessment, qualitative evaluation and developing evaluation. With the review of the eminent teacher and the similar notion in theory, and the practical use of these, we promote the qualitative evaluation and developing evaluation in university teacher. That is to say, to make it into practical use, each university can widen their own assessment system with the use of part 2; part 1 could be the main theoretical direction and support. To practice the selection of the eminent teacher in the basement of teacher assessment in university, so as to realize the developing assessment of university teachers and raising the university teaching quality which returns to the first aim of practicing "eminent teacher" project.The study consists of four parts.Preface: The background of the study and the present situation, to draw out the problem.Partâ… : Theories and analysis.
