With the advance of the new curriculum reform, new demands have been put into language teaching in the latest New Curriculum Standard of Chinese language teaching. The aesthetic education is an important component of the Chinese language teaching. As a class of style in language teaching materials, the ancient poetry is known to the implicit refined phrasing, beautiful harmonious rhythm, and deep fiery emotion. It becomes an excellent material to present aesthetic education to students. The combination of language teaching and aesthetics, in particular the ancient poetry teaching and aesthetics, has become a new trend. Under the guidance of the New Curriculum Reform, we should guide the students to seek for the artistic languages in poetry correctly when teaching. In order to achieve the purpose of aesthetic education among students, the peotries can purify their hearts, advance their aesthetic consciousness, and cultivate their right personalities and attitudes towards life. Hence, a new experimental issue of how to combine the aesthetic education with ancient poetry teaching in secondary schools comes into being.In this paper, some aspects will be mainly discussed on how to improve the aesthetic education of ancient poetry teaching in secondary schools. Aesthetics is an eternal topic, we should focus on the method of teaching students to judge, and to sense and taste in learning ancient poetries. The first problem to be solved is to clear some concepts like aesthetic standards and sensibilities.This paper will discuss the importance of aesthetic education dialectically, especially on aesthetic education, the aesthetic education of Chinese ancient poetry, the influence of the ancient poetry teaching to the aesthetic education, and the promote role played by aesthetic education to the ancient poetry teaching. The status of the ancient poetry teaching at present is one of the important reasons in the strong proponent of aesthetic education. An analysis of the status of ancient poetry teaching in secondary schools is also an import of this paper. It will be mainly expatiated on three aspects: 1. materials Selection and Examination; 2. the status of teachers'poetry teaching; 3. the status of ancient poetry learning of the secondary students. This paper will focus on the measures of how to solve the aesthetic problems in teaching ancient poetries. New demands have been made by the new curriculum standards in ancient poetry teaching in secondary schools. According to the standards, how to teach, and how to cultivate and improve students'aesthetic taste have become urgent problems. Several aspects will be discussed on the aesthetic measures of the ancient poetry teaching in secondary schools, for instance: 1. lead-in; 2. read aloud; 3. taste; 4. imagine. These four steps are closely and progressively linked, and are a set of effective methods in the aesthetic education of ancient poetry teaching.
