The private higher education of China, as a product of the reform and practice of the educational system, has developed rapidly over the past 20-odd years out of nothing, and has reached a considerable size not only in quality, but also in structures, levels and teaching characteristics. Especially, along with the proposal of the nation's cause of building a well-off society in an all-around way and a life-long learning society, the process of popularizing and diversifying China's high educations has accelerated. Demonstrating a tremendous vitality, private higher education plays an important role in the development of higher educations. Today, private higher education is more and more recognized by the public, and its roles and functions in popularizing higher educations have been further acknowledged and understood by all circles. However, undeniably, private higher education has been facing many toughproblems since the very beginning. Practice shows the dramatic growth of private higher education's strength, but such rapid growth also demonstrates the severe challenges in respect of inputs, qualified teachers, teaching facilities, teaching quality, management structures and management levels etc. Therefore, the in-depth analysis, thinking and research on the current problems of private higher education and their countermeasures are of great significances in optimizing educational sources, developing vocational education of Chinese characteristics, speeding up the training of highly skilled/qualified workers, and promoting the sound, healthy and sustainable development of private higher educations.This dissertation reviews the history of China's private higher education and its present conditions, analyzes its existing problems in major settings from the aspect of employment (with the methods of questionnaires and AHP assessment model), and provides some countermeasures.
