Cooperative learning is a teaching strategy, in which one or more peers work together to complete a learning task under the teacher's guidance. The reward is based on the performance of the whole group. It can motivate students' subjective initiative, improve their academic performance and promote students capabilities. Cooperative learning, therefore, is considered as the most popular and effective teaching strategies nowadays. One of the basic concepts of the New Curriculum Criterion is to advocate exploratory study, promote changes in the way students study, and cooperative learning is in line with the requirements of the new curriculum to enable students to take the initiative to participate in the learning process, through independent study, cooperation and exchange. Meanwhile it enables students to acquire knowledge and enhance the capacity of study .So in the background of the new curriculum, the implementation of cooperative learning is essential in high school biology teaching. But the implementation of cooperative learning often lacks effectiveness and tangential. This study aims to do a research on how to achieve the desired effect on the effective implementation of cooperative learning. The research on cooperative learning teaching model makes a refinement and additions to formulate new models of instruction, refresher courses, and papers comments. The author has carried out a teaching practice of cooperative learning according to the following aspects, that is, the reasonable division, the establishing of an appropriate goal, the clear mission, the careful selecting of the content of cooperation, the designing of questions for co-operation, the handling of the relationship between cooperation and autonomy, the coordination of group relations and inter-group relations, the scientific evaluation system. The proposal of the experiment is to make cooperative learning more effective. This study , mainly through experimental method , evaluates the effectiveness of cooperative learning with the grade and study adaptability of biology students . Through the one-year implementation, it is discovered that clear differences exist between experimental classes and control classes which indicates the implementation of this study is effective. Besides, the study also points out which part of the content of the biology textbooks (PEP for Senior High) is suitable for cooperative learning which will offer reference for teaching in the future...
