Subject teaching, as a new part in junior Chinese textbook (Jiangsu edition), aims at developing students'comprehensive and investigative learning skills. This article elaborates the significance of studying the subject and the way how to turn subject to advantage in theory and practice. The theoretical part studies significance from the reason why it is used, and the advantage from the learner and the special content. While the practical part focuses on how to carry it out in junior Chinese teaching. From the survey we can see how to teach and learn in practice. This part further shows the necessity of employing subject in teaching. The main research methods are literature review, the questionnaire survey method, the sampling method, etc.
