With the number of students increasing in key senior high schools, an urgent demand has risen for reformation of these schools'organizing structure and administration pattern. Traditional school administration is executed at three levels, with the president at the top, functional departments in the middle and grade organizations and teaching research groups at the bottom. The grade organizations and the teaching research group are subordinate to different functional departments, which leads to parallel management and tends to cause the two sections to be out of joint. Besides, the excessive levels have extended"the battle line", which affects work efficiency. To solve the problems, many large-size senior high schools are experimenting to find a more effective administration pattern that is simpler and more direct. Based on flatization and detailed management theories, the new administration pattern centers on grade organizations and cuts management levels to two, the president office as the top level, and grade organizations intermingling with other functional departments to be the second and floor level. Thus the number of managing tiers decreases and their extent expands. In accordance, administrative information from various sections will balance better and be passed at a quicker pace, which in turn will increase management efficiency. The grade-centered pattern is in line with requirements for school administrative body to be flat and networked. It is helpful to enhance teamwork and create cultivating organizations, to arouse competition between grades, and to invigorate creativities and push school management to further improve.
