Research For Majors Setting Of New Academic Institutions

Majors setting of newly built academic institutions is one of the most important things for reform and development of higher education, as well is a problem needed to consider at the beginning of building an institution. As an crucial part of education management, major setting influences existing and development of new institutions, and influenced by so many factors from both inside and outside school. If a new institution wants to have a long life and take its social responsibility, it must do well in setting majors to promote education quality and benefits in running a school.This research is supported by literature, survey and case study. After investigating the majors' setting and further development in some new instituation and contrasting the new with institutions of its kind, the basic situation in early stage of education management is known and some problems are discovered. According to new quests of higher education, some measures should be taken to improve the situation.This paper focuses on majors setting of new instituations, and cast back carefully to majors setting development process of S college. Benefits brought by good work in majors setting are showed, and problems and reasons existing in its development are discovered by investigating the general situation. Finally measures and suggestions are given to the majors setting of new instituations based on theoretical analysis and careful thoughts.
