Under the new circumstances of reform and opening-up and with the coming of era of global knowledge economy, the private higher education in China is developing quickly with its unique mode, that is education facing marketization and flexible operating mechanism, which not only quickens the popularization of higher education but also satisfies the needs of the whole people for diversified quality education. With the regional economic development as the carrier and with the goal of cultivating senior practical talents to serve the local economic development, the new private undergraduate colleges appear to adapt to this social needs and education growth. However, in the process of development, we are facing with a series of dramatic dilemmas of faculty employment and professional development.New-style private undergraduate colleges are playing an important part in China’s higher education. Through the comprehensive analysis and comparison of the research reference domestically and internationally, the thesis states the importance and the necessity in construction of teaching staff in the newly-built private undergraduate colleges and makes an active explanation to the related academic expressions. Moreover, it analyzes clearly both the macroscopic orientation in the development of higher education and the microscopic aim in itself development. On the basis of that, in order to cultivate a highly-qualified teaching force at new-style private undergraduate colleges, the thesis also puts forward the specific objectives in construction of teachers’ moralization, professionalization, groupalization and institutionalization and so on.Through the inspection of literature, empirical research, data comparison method, in this paper, the author affirmed the current teachers’construction at newly-built private colleges in terms of ideology, institutional and operational achievements. On the other hand, in-depth anatomy of teacher structure at these colleges is facing the common and specific issues which influence and restrict the further development of private higher education. In order to find out the fundamental solution to the problems, the author carried out this study from the development of new private education, comprehensively analyzed the cause of the problems and found that ideas, goal-settings, cost logic management system in teachers’ construction of new private colleges has a serious impact and constrain the vision and action of construction and development of the private higher education. To change the status quo, the author combined with successful experience of foreign private university faculty development, focused on the positioning of the development of new private colleges and the special requirements of the quality of their faculty, proposed some reasonable solutions of the development at newly-built private undergraduate colleges:Accurate positioning of each college; specialization of the strategic goal of teacher professional development; implementing conscientiously, changing strategic objectives to operational objectives step by step; strengthening leadership to ensure measures to go fluently; changing effectively the quick success of the school teachers guiding ideology; adjusting the logics of cost as the only standard; optimizing sustainably the supporting measures of the national policy environment and the in-campus institutional environment, and gradually reforming the healthy functioning of the mechanism for the private college teachers and so on.
