Research On The Heritage And Innovation Of School-running Characteristics Of Newly-built Colleges

With the continuous development of China’s higher education popularization,newly-built colleges are developing in ever-increasing numbers, gradually becomingan important part of higher education in China. Among these newly-built colleges,some ones, which are originally in the charge of administrative department, haveunique advantages of running schools based on their industry background. Under thecompetitive current situation of higher education, it is a practical problem for thenewly-built colleges to retain their original teaching advantages, at the same timerelying on the traditional characteristic disciplines and finally create newschool-running characteristics by combing their own school-running practice, whichis worth paying researchers’ attention.In this study, the author adopts literature analysis method, case analysis method,interview method to make a detailed study of the school-running characteristics ofthose newly-built colleges with industry background. Firstly, the paper makes aliterature review of the school-running characteristics of those universities as well asthat of some relevant colleges and universities and find out the theoretical basis of thestudy from the existing research; secondly, the current development situation of thenewly-built undergraduate colleges and universities with industry background areanalyzed in the paper, summing up the experience of the institutions; thirdly, the paperselects Nanchang Institute of Technology as a study case and analyses itsschool-running history, characteristic disciplines, characteristic specialties, thepresent situation of school-running characteristics and existing problems; finally, thethesis put forward some relevant suggestions to inherit and innovate theschool-running characteristics of the newly-built colleges.
