Vocational guidance is a progress which can help the people when they are choosing or searching occupations or jobs and opportunities make them options correctly,which must base on request of society,on what characteristics themselves have,and on ideas of the people.Vocational guidance include both in societies guidance and in schools guidance.As part of schools guidance,vocational guidance in general secondary schools born in the development of economy and society in some extent.The United Kingdom is one of industrialization countries which earliest implied. The Careers guidance in general secondary was developed earlier than other countries, as pushed ahead by economy and society growing.So,vocational guidance in general secondary in UK has more features and improving quality.It would benefit to our work which careers guidance of secondary schools in China.In this paper,there is a clue on vocational guidance history of development in general secondary in UK,the author had study on some fields in Vocational guidance such as legal foundations, organization frameworks,requirements for teachers,grade plans and fundamental methods,etc,used by document-research and compare-research.The author had summarized some successful experience from this course,which could be used for reference to us.These experience cover such as improving quality of vocational guidance by legal means,developing research ability of Vocational guidance in theory, and setting strictly up standards and criterions to all people whose intend access to profession in Vocational guidance in general secondary schools and so on.In the end, linking up the existing state of vocational guidance in general secondary schools in China,I drew some conclusions from this article.There are four parts in the article.In the first part,author write have a focal points the reason of the title and methods of research.In the second part,there are two fundamentals be defined which is "general secondary schools in UK" and "vocational guidance".In the third part,the composition reviews firstly the short story of vocational guidance,then research widely and deeply lots of aspects,as management,contents,process and so on of vocational guidance in general secondary schools in UK.The last part,the author put forward some proposals for us on the basis of the above chapters.
