Since entering the 21st century,the reform and opening of our country had penetrated into every field and system,and the impact and promotion of globalization and modernization tide upon our society had been accelerated.The performance of this situation showed in the culture fields as the cultural value differentiation and the fast transition of pluralistic culture.To resolve and prevent the cultural and social contradictions in fast transition period,all members of our society should make efforts for it.Teachers are not only the outcome of culture but also the heritors of mainstream culture and the important authors of new culture,so they are the pioneer and strong force to resolve the cultural contradictions and create cultural and play an important role in constructing harmonious society.Being an example,teachers should play a suited role with the cultural requirement in our country's fast transition period and review their career roles and overcome the limitations of the traditional role of teachers and then achieve the remodeling of the roles of teachersThe thesis consists of five parts:The first part is introduction,which dissertates the background and significance of this study,present study situation,the introduction of question,main contents and study ideas,study methods and the definition of key terms including"multiculture"and"the roles of teachers"and so on.The second part talks about the requirement of society under multicultural sight, which discusses in detail the characteristics of our society under multicultural sight and its specific requirements aiming at teachers at the aspects of ideas,competencies and ways of thinking and so on.The third part is the content of the conversion.This part is the body of this thesis. Bases on the requirements of society under multicultural sight,the thesis attempts to clarify the specific conversion requirements in the systems of ideas,competencies and ways of thinking by comparing the roles between in the traditional society and in the society under multicultural sight. The fourth part is the strategy of teacher's roles conversion.This part presents the strategy advice that how to achieve the conversion of teachers' roles,including actualizing teacher professional development,transforming teachers' cultural ideas and competencies and gaining the external supports from governments,educational authorities,schools, students and their parents.The last part is conclusions and shortages of this study.
