The Effect Of Home Advantage In China Table Tennis Super League

By dividing different levels and using a comparative way,the study explored the law of home advantage in China table tennis super league (CTTSL).The objet of the study was all clubs participating CTTSL from 2005 to 2007 season,including 32 men's and women's teams respectively. After analysing the results of all participating teams by independent sample T test and one-way varience test,it was concluded that:1.There was significant home advantage effect in men's teams in CTTSL and the effect became stronger with the increase of the teams' technical stength.2.There was no significant home advantage effect in women's teams in CTTSL and the effect was not significantly related with the technical strength of the teams.3.There was no significant difference between the results of the teams participating in non-local home courts and in local home courts in CTTSL. Some interesting results in the field of home advantage effect in CTTSL were found in the study.Sex has a relation with the home advantage effect. In men's teams,the teams with the stronger strength used the home advantage effect better than others.However,in women's teams,no significant home advantage efffect was found.The reasons resulting in the condition were discussed in the study.The author thought that the difference between men and women in physiology and phychology could be the main reason for the phenomenan.
