This research studies the communication openness and job satisfaction of 267 P.E. teachers in colleges and universities in some provinces of our country. The Communication Openness Measure is edited by Virginia & Ronald(2005) and The Questionnaire of Job Satisfaction is conducted by Institute of Psychology of Chinese Academy of Sciences. The two questionnaires adopted the score of Likert 5-points. Statistical tool of SPSS14.0 is adopted to analyse the investigation results by description, correlation and regression. The purpose of this research is to probe into the actuality and the relationship between teachers' perception of communication openness and job satisfaction.The main results are as followings:1. It's reported that the state of communication openness based on teachers' perception is in a medium level and the result is the same in job satisfaction of P.E. teachers in colleges and universities, which shows that P.E. teachers in colleges and universities are relatively satisfied with their jobs. Among the 11 dimensions of job satisfaction, the points of welfare and reward are the lowest, whereas the points of work recognizing and relationship are the highest.2. Sex variable in communication openness together with job satisfaction are not correlative significantly. Marriage variable in job satisfaction is correlative significantly, while in communication openness is not. Married P.E teachers in colleges and universities are more satisfied than the unmarried ones. Age and education are all correlative significantly in communication openness and job satisfaction. The length of service and the title of position in job satisfaction are correlative significantly, while in communication openness are not. From the point of job satisfaction, teachers who work much longer are more satisfied with their jobs. In the view of the title, professors are the most satisfied.3. Communication openness and job satisfaction are correlative significantly and they even positively associated with each other. So are each dimensions in communication openness and job satisfaction.4. Generally speaking, communication openness based on teachers' perception have significant predictive effects on job satisfaction. The dimension that supervisors' feedback receptiveness can predict the effect most.
