The New curriculum reform is a profound change of China's fundamental education .Under the new curriculum history pedagogy should conform to the trends of quality education and educational reform. Homework of History is an important part of consolidation in the performance of history teaching and learning, whose need for reform is self-evident. In terms of history subject, the homework is the embodiment and concentration of an education concept, as well as can be a reflection of different ideology and philosophy of education. The homework may have a beneficial impact on student's development or may have adverse effects. The careful study and improvement on the functions of homework will play an active leading role in the changes in our concepts of education, the implementation of the new curriculum reform goals and the promotion of quality education. The basic contents of the quality education and education reform are: to play the moral function of history subject, to cultivate the students'sound personality and noble quality, to play history subject's scientific function and to improve their historical academic abilities of thinking, analysis, interpretation, expression.This study, through the design of"a questionnaire of senior high school students'attitudes and psychological conditions on history homework" and investigation in Nanjing No.9 senior high school students on the part of the survey line, attempts to have an in-depth understanding of the practice from the real situation in order to obtain reliable information and use the data obtained as a theoretical basis. The purposes of this study is to examine and improve the functions of homework, which will play an active leading role in the changes in our concepts of education, the implementation of the new curriculum reform goals and the promotion of quality education.This article is divided into four parts. The first part is research and analysis on history homework in senior high school, which starts to design the questionnaire, obtains first-hand information, analyzes data, and makes a conclusion. The second part is the status of history homework in senior high school, pointing out that there are many reasons for it which consists of the influence of society and school, and teacher's factors such as their own ideas in education, educational methods, educational tools, as well as the development and utilization of curriculum resources. The third part is the principles of history homework under New Curriculum Standards, which indicates that the design of homework should combine the important teaching content with the main task of teaching, as homework itself is to consolidate and deepen the content, and then summarizes six major design principles. The fourth part is functional concept of history homework in senior high school under the new curriculum, which uses history homework of senior high school in the United States as an example, elicits a related inspiration and sums up the function of history homework by reflection.
