Since the reform of the new curriculum has been put into place, how to better assess the students` academic performance has always been an issue. In 2004, The Senior High School Biology Curriculum Standard and textbooks begins to be experimented on. This thesis makes an analysis and also an research on the influence of the guidance of teaching and assessment, which makes a great sense to the methods of academic performance assessment.According to the relevant materials on curriculum standards and students` academic performance assessment, the thesis first of all reviews the definitions of the curriculum standard and the standard of academic performance assessment, the relationship between the two terms, and the relevant theories. Based on these work, the thesis is fixed, that is, as the basis of assessment, whether The Senior High School Biology Curriculum Standard functions effectively in teaching and academic performance assessment, whether there are any problem, and what kind of performance standards are needed by the teachers. This thesis mainly makes a good use of the method of interviews and questionaires in order to acknowledge the feelings of the teachers when they are using The Senior High School Biology Curriculum Standard to fix the teaching purpose and to conduct the academic performance assessment, and finally comes to a conclusion that due to the absence of the standard of academic performance assessment, the curriculum standard at that time could not functions effectively in teaching and academic assessment, and so the teacher of biology is in need of a definite and practical standard of academic performance assessment. At last, based on the further analysis, the thesis makes suggestions on the formation of the standard of academic performance assessment in China that the relevant authority should produce the particular department to receive the feedbacks and to satisfy the need of the teachers. At the same time, in order to improve the teachers'skills and to enlarge their knowledge in this field, the authorities should provide for teachers more chances to learn in this field.
