Maths is one of the subjects which students aren't interested or get bad result in. Students feel bored at it as early as they are in the primary school. Pupils have nothing to do but study it unwillingly although it's difficult. Students repeat the years of work, discontinuing learning because of the low scores, abandon maths, dislike Maths ,etc.At present, parents, schools, including the work society have the hope of children learning Maths well, no matter how bored it is. Students have no choice but to try to study it in vain, the period of adoptive education is the most serious disengagement of Students'maths learning, not only for those who have bad results but also for those whose maths score are higher, they are not into Maths at all. So they do not take an active part in the activities in class, in fact without real participatory environment in Maths class. Therefore, what permeates this study is the belief that autonomous learning in senior high schools can be promoted through appropriate means, for example, via learning plans. Up to now, there is no definite definition for learning plans. According to the author, a learning plan is a plan of learning for students to use in the process of learning, which aims at developing their creativity and learning ability. It can be designed by the students with the guidance of their teachers or by teachers themselves. Moreover, a teaching plan is the embodiment of their teacher'thoughts of teaching, whereas a learning plan should embody and reveal students'thoughts of learning. It is a learning plan through which teaching objectives can be altered into learning and will develop autonomous learning among high school students by introducing the background of and the former researches on the learner autonomy. Then the students'autonomous English learning is thoroughly analyzed in the background of English language teaching in China, including its definitions, focuses, the necessity of cultivating the student autonomy in the process of English learning in high school and its operability in teaching in terms of principle and action. This research is using Kong Qiping's questionnaire about student participation and his layering valuation to analyze the data; together with three self-designed tests, the author conducted an investigaion about participation in mathematic teaching among students of a city-county combined junior school. In this paper,"the method of case study is a new research and practice on how to cultivate students'ability of autonomous study. The method of case study bases on the theory of basic educational curriculum. It aims at making students'main body in class, bases on developing students, presents their individual characteristics. It focuses on"teaching is dominant, while learning is the main body". It also focuses on students'participation, coorperation and exploration; It also focuses on cultivating students'autonomous study, combining knowledge and ability. Its main purpose is to cultivate students'ability of asking and solving questions and problems, to cultivate their scientific thinking habit and research method.
