Inquiry learning,as the inevitable choice of curriculum reformation in current information age,has made learning from passive manner to accept the initiative towards the exploratory study.It has made changes from traditional way of learning that students merely take what they are taught to a brand-new educational pattern that to train learners with innovative and practical abilities and scientific literacy.I have applied the latest achievement of theoretical research on the inquiry learning in this dissertation to discuss the origin and development of inquiry learning together with its concept,characteristic,theoretical foundation,objectives,curricular positioning and development tendency worldwide in order to represent its current development phase and to reveal its nature and general law of development.In addition my discussion has also pointed out the consistency and applicability between inquiry learning and cultivation in scientific apperception for pupils and particularly focused on practical techniques,processes and strategies so that it could further demonstrate the necessity and feasibility of developing inquiry learning in the primary school education, therefore the necessary and beneficial investigations and efforts have been made in order to to carry out further study on this development.
