Class teaching is the main organizational forms of university teaching, and is also the most important way of achieving the goals of the personnel training in modern universities. In the whole process of teaching, the teachers can achieve the goals of the curriculum, the syllabus, the teaching plans and the textbooks that included by using a certain teaching methods. For a long time, however, the theoretic researchers on education only attached importance to the general education teaching methods, but ignored the university teaching methods. In the universities, there widely exist some conceptions, such as "University has no teaching methods", "Teaching methods are just important to the primary and secondary schools, but not the universities".We found from the survey that the current university teaching methods is still the traditional teaching-oriented of"blackboard and chalk", while discussion is rarely involved in the class teaching. Obviously, it can't meet the modern society'requirements, which need to cultivate creative talents with the spirit of innovation and the practical ability, so it is necessary to have a systematical study on discussion teaching. Discussion, as a common teaching method, is based on the correlative theories of education, psychology, sociology and other disciplines, and it is target-oriented, interactive, cooperative, democratic and creative. It is useful to form students'critical way of thinking, to cultivate students'cooperative awareness, to improve students'verbal express skills and the self-learning ability. When using discussion as a way of teaching in university classes, teachers and students should make full preparations, teachers should demonstrate that how to participate in the discussion, and should arrange classroom seats reasonably, introduce discussion topics correctly, promote discussion effectively and ensure to continue the discussion successfully by means of asking questions, listening, responding. In the meantime, teachers should adopt a correct evaluation principles and methods.
