The educational reform in the 1980s has directly resulted in the information literacy collaborative instructional model. The whole people attending and resources-based learning are two basic features of information literacy education, which makes information literacy collaborative instructional model adopted. The traditional academic information literacy instructional model in China is developing information literacy only through the way of depending on academic library's strength to offer information retrieval course. It is fully proved that information literacy education is not an isolated course but a complicated systematic project that is closely linked with all sorts of education and it's impossible to make success only depending on academic library's strength. It is the traditional information literacy instructional model lacking supports of other social organizations that makes that the theoretical study and practical exploration of information literacy in college of China is so weak and that the educational effect is lowered seriously. All directions, manifold levels and varied forms collaborative instructional model in American have made great success. There's much in their method that we can make use of.An information literacy collaborative instructional model in line with our actual situation is successfully set up. The idea of constructing doctrine teaching is its theoretical basis. The goal is fostering the students' creative ability. Academic library is the backbone elements and leader. The documents drafted by Steering Committee for Academic Libraries of China Academic Library Society are policy guarantee. It takes librarian and teacher's collaboration as starting point. Information literacy education in China will be played in a vast circumstance to find the solution by the new instructional model. It ensures that Information literacy education in China will develop deeply, continuously and effectively.
