Modern distance education project in rural primary and secondary schools (shorter form "Nongyuan "Project) is a project supported by government, its aim is to promote sharing quality resources in both urban and rural areas, improve the quality of basic education in rural areas, and promote all-round development of education in both urban and rural areas. This research started with the relationship hypothesis between Nongyuan Project and teacher training, on the basis of case study, it analysised the current problems that Nongyuan project had in the promotion of teacher training, and discussed the related strategies on how to improve teacher training effectiveness of Nongyuan project.This research selects Ganzhou city of districts, whose administrative area is the biggest in Jiangxi Province, as case study .It takes field-work as research method, investigated 9 towns in 3 project counties, came to 32 project schools, including 9 mode one, 14 mode two and 9 mode three schools. Through huge amounts of interview, forum, observation and questionnaire, we found that the investigated project counties and project schools had many problems in the Nongyuan project implementation process, such as the problems in teaching applications, teachers' competence, teacher training, function among each department, the fault and maintenance of equipments, resources application and follow-up funds. Through arranging and analyzing these problems, we think the poor teacher competence is the key to poor teaching applications, poor teacher training is the key to poor teacher competence, and poor supporting condition is the key to poor teacher training. These three factors are interlocked, and interact with each other. So in order to improve teaching application, we must improve teacher competence; in order to improve teacher competence, we must do teacher training well; in order to ensure the effect of teacher training, we must have enough dependable supporting conditions. In this way, the key is to explore the strategies of teacher training and supporting conditions.The full text is divided into five chapters.Chapter 1 Introduction. It introduces the implemental background of Nongyuan project, the posing of the problem, the theoretical and practical value of this research and theoretical basis.Chapter 2 Research methods. The research methods in this paper include document study, case study and field-work.Chapter 3 Case analysis—around the Status quo of teacher training in Nongyuan project in Ganzhou city of districts, using field-work as research method, this research analysised the problems in the implementation process of Nongyuan project, and the factors leading to the existence of these problems.Chapter 4 strategy exploring—around the problems in the implementation process of Nongyuan project in Ganzhou city of districts, this research discussed the ways to solve these problems from these aspects, such as teacher's quality standards in Nongyuan project, training strategies, supporting strategies and school-based training.Chapter 5 research conclusion. It includes the conclusion and prospect in the follow-up study of this research.
