| With the mathematization of society, it's clearly not enough to have only liberal arts reading ability. Modern society requires people to have a variety of comprehensive reading abilities including Mathematics Reading Ability. Mathematics Reading Ability is an important way to obtain the mathematical knowledge independently and life-long learning ability, which has proved to be constructive and significant for students'development. Senior secondary is the critical period for the students to develop their Mathematics Reading Ability, when the students has mastered some reading skills. However, they need the direction and help from their teachers for further reading methods and strategies.Through the investigation of the Mathematics Reading Ability of senior students by questionnaire, the thesis draws a conclusion that it is the Mathematics Reading that is the weakest point in mathematics learning:1. Students are not acquaint with Mathematics Reading2. Students are lack of inner desire for Mathematics Reading3. Students are lack of reading strategy.4. Students have not enough self-control over reading5. Teachers don't pay much attention to Mathematics Reading6. The fact of students'after-class reading is not optimistic.7. Students have strong desires for receiving the instruction of Mathematics ReadingIn view of the above mathematics reading situation, the author makes it clear of the situation of the students'reading abilities through the survey on their independent reading habit, and focuses on the training of the students'Mathematics Reading Ability. After a year practice, the students have enhanced their senses and abilities on reading to some degree: 1. Most students become interested in Mathematics Reading, and it is well accepted among senior students.2. A number of the students who become interested in mathematics increased and improve their performances in the final examination of two classes studied. It suggests that developing reading acitivity is capable of promotitng students'interest in mathematics learning.3. Learning method has been changed because most students think that Mathematics Reading is good to mathematics learning.Otherwise, there are still many problems concerned in students'reading, such as"What to read?","How to read?"; The three mathematical languages cannot be easily transformed over reading; mathematical language is considered to be too boring and abstract.Finally, the thesis offers Mathematics Reading strategy from the experience in class instructional intervention and the investigation:1. focus on the training of reading ability in the conception teaching;2. focus on the training of reading ability in the formula, theory, conclusion teachings.3. focus on the training of reading ability in the example teaching.4. focus on the training of reading ability in the Mathematics Reading teaching.Based on the research above, the author offers the following teaching suggestions:1. promote the sense of reading and arouse the interest in reading of the students2. make the students form good reading habits.3. give the students efficient way for reading.4. improve the abilities of transforming three mathematical languages.5. make them to acquire some useful technique in the process of reading.In the meanwhile, the author proposes the further topics for the future research. |
