The classroom is the main place for students'study, Student-centered Principle and New Course Concept tell us to not only emphasize the students'active participation in class but also pay attention to their experience in English class. According to a lot of literatures of participation in the class, this research defined students'participation in English classroom into the behavior participation, the emotion participation, and the cognition participation. In order to find out the participation situation and the reason why the Learning Difficulties participate insufficiently in the English classroom, this research adopts the method of questionnaire survey and the interviewing method, choose ten English Learning Difficulties of Grade Seven in our school as the research subjects, having carried on one-year research.According to the observation in English class and a lot of interview, it is found that: for the Learning Difficulties ,their negative participation in the behavior is more than other students. For example, they can't focus their attention on their study, they often do something having nothing to do with their study, such as playing with a pen, a piece of paper and so on. In the way of emotional participation, the English Learning Difficulties have more passive emotion than positive emotion. In addition, they are only able to recite some English sentences and texts, but they always fail in putting what they have learned into practice well.Through the research, it is found that the reason that the English Learning Difficulties often participate in the English class negatively lies in their passive emotion and the simple cognition. At last, this research come to a conclusion : there are mainly two reasons that lead to the English Learning Difficulties not participate in class. The first one is the respect of cognition such as attention , the previous knowledge, and the learning strategies etc. The second one is the respect of emotion such as their learning interest in English, motivation, attitude, and anxiety etc.
