As the tension between the education quality and the ever expanding scale increases because of the recent increasing enrollment of universities, there have been a lot of research on how to ensure the education quality, and attention has been drawn to the internal education quality monitoring system of universities. As the key modules of universities, different institutes and departments present different characteristics due to the nature of their own fields, despite sharing some similarities. Thus, how to ensure the education quality of different institutes and departments within universities has also been studied. In view of this, my dissertation tries to perfect and construct the education quality monitoring system for undergraduate students of universities, hoping that my research will be of use for the practice of college education. This dissertation employs quality monitoring and control theory, advanced education management theory and advanced education assessment theory in combination with other methods like document retrieval, comparison and theory reasoning.This dissertation can be divided into five parts:The first part introduces the background, definition and domestic and foreign study regarding this topic. It elaborates on the significance of this topic, the train of thought, as well as the methods employed in my research.The second part presents two theories on which this research is based:quality management and quality control. The dissertation focuses on "All-around Quality Management Theory" and "Deming PDCA Theory" regarding the former theory. As to the latter, this dissertation introduces its basic meaning and main methods.Based on the two theories, the third part puts forward five principles in constructing education quality monitoring system within institutes and departments. They are total personnel principle, systematicness principle, entirety principle, scientificalness principle, feasibility principle.The fourth part analyses the content of education quality monitoring system within institutes and departments:education plan monitoring, condition monitoring, execution monitoring and result monitoring. Then, this dissertation constructs a model for education quality monitoring system within institutes and departments, from which six systems are derived respectively:objective system, organization system, regulation system, information system, assessment system and feedback system. The final part sums up this dissertation, points out the weaknesses of my research and looks forward to the prospect of my future research in this field.
