A Study On The Development Of The Secondary Vocational Education In Zhongshan In The Context Of The Global Financial Crisis

In 2008, the U.S. subprime mortgage crisis caused the global financial crisis, which penetrated into all areas of society and the world economy and China's economy had a tremendous impact. Zhongshan, which is in the export-oriented economy district of the South China, as industries relatively concentrated area, have also been hit hard, and thus gave birth to the acceleration of Zhongshan's upgrading of economic structure. Vocational education, as an important human resource supporter,also faces enormous challenges and opportunities in this global financial cirisis. This thesis aims to address the challenges of the financial crisis and find out the way in which how to break the bottleneck which appeared in the development of secondary vocational education.This paper is based on the empirical study of Zhongshan's secondary vocational education. Through analyzing the context of the financial crisis, we can find out the problems and reasons, and then put up some suggestions. The problems are:the social recognition of vocational education is not high;it is hard for vocational education to support industrial development; employment level is low;the government policy support is inadequate and so on.The suggestions are:make the best use of external environment;establish a correct development philosophy;expansion the development scale;improve the set of curriculum; innovative institutional mechanism;strengthen the teaching staff and so on.
