The Comparison And Analysis Of The Level Of Regional University-industry Collaboration

Competition among enterprises has become competition of business innovation ability. Enterprises have to constantly add new knowledge and new technologies to innovate. To cooperate with the main knowledge producers-universities and research institutions, has become an imperative strategic choice for enterprises. From the beginning of 1980s, the university-industy collaboration began to receive widespread concern. Both develeped and developing contries have taken a series of policies and measures and carried out research plans to strengthen the university-industry collaboration, in order to promote economic development and improve national competitiveness. University-industry collaboration has become an important practice in regional innovation system.The development of university-industry collaboration in China began in due form from the year of 1992, with the implement of"University-Industry Joint Exploitation Project". In the past period of nearly two decades, university-industry collaborations in China have gone through a gradual process of development, with the content, approaches, effects of the collaboration changing over time, which have greatly contributed to the integrated development of technology, economy, society in China. However, the economic situation in new period intensifys global competition, which proposes new development requirements for goverments, enterprises and even universities in every country. To further raise the conversion efficiency of scientific and technological achievements and enhance the sense of collaboration, it is necessary to give a more comprehensive and in-depth analysis of university-industry collaboration in all regions of China. Consequently, according to the intensie properties of university-industry collaboration and past related research fingings, this paper analyses the influencing factors of the formation of university-industry relationships. Moreover, it constructs the index system to evaluate the level of regional university-indusry collaboration in China, which has five research perspectives: collaborative agent, supporting resource, potential, environment and performance. The research objective of this paper is the 31 prvinces and cities in China, using SPSS softwre to make a factor analysis. The outcome of this study illustrates that regional university-indusry collaboration is mainly decided by the level of resource input, unversity research and high-tech industy development level , and the level of Industry R&D input. Finally, the paper proposes some countermeasures for enhancing the level of university-industry collaboration in China according to research results.
