With the implementation of the Second Revolution on the Curriculum in Primary and Secondary School and deepening of quality-oriented education reform, it raises a lot of concern about whether the students'study burden is off the limits of students' ability and how the students manage to spare more time and effort from their study to cultivate hobbies and interest to perfect their personality which will prepare themselves better for their future. This dissertation deals with the very problem from a perspective of a high school teacher of chemistry, focusing on the situation that high school students are burdened with too much extra homework and exploring the possible solutions to ease their unnecessary study burden in the subject of chemistry.Documentation method, questionnaire method, statistical method, comparison method and interviewing method are adopted in the course of my research. The whole research process can be divided into two stages as follows. Stage one, to design the questionnaire and conduct the survey; Stage two, to analyze the data collected from the survey.According to my research, study shows that the average sleeping-hour of the students in three type of high school add up to least than seven and half hours each day and that they spend more than eight hours at schools and in the meantime it takes them over two hours to finish daily homework. To meet this requirement, most students should finish their homework of chemistry in 30 minutes, but in fact, most students need 45 minutes. And in each type of high school, some students need to complete other exercises, A type of high school reach a maximum of 41.6%.In addition, in the High School Year, the exercises in those widely-used reference books seriously deviate from their text books from three aspects, such as the number of topics, the number of involved knowledge points and repetition frequency of involved knowledge points.In conclusion, as for chemistry, the high school subject the key to ease the students of study burden is to tailor your students daily homework.
