The Application Of Nida 's Functional Equivalence Theory In The Interpretation Of Prime Minister' S Press Conference

Based on Eugene A Nida’s “functional equivalent” theory, this thesis has anin-depth analysis of NPC and CPPCC press conference both presided by the PrimeMinister and interpreters’ difficulties in the transformation between two languagesChinese and English. Furthermore, this thesis analyzes the guiding role of the theory tosolve such problems. This thesis, first and foremost, outlines the Nida’s functionalequivalence theory and NPC and CPPCC press conference features, and thensummarizes its interpretation standard. Finally, this thesis applies Nida’s “functionalequivalence” theory to NPC and CPPCC press conference analyzing its interpretingcorpus and draws the conclusion.
