| SBU (sinogram as basic unit) has been proposed and developed since twenty years ago, but is still a "minority" because it has been supported and practiced just by a small number of people. Modern western theories have influenced and promoted Chinese teaching since introducing"Ma’s grammar", but with unsatisfactory results. As a consequence, Chinese is now one of the most difficult languages all over the world.Viewed from the development history of Chinese and its influence in the world, Chinese character has been far more than just recording symbols of Chinese language; it is also the second language that assists Chinese language. It has been borrowed by many countries as language signs for its powerful ideographic function with integrated form and meaning.Based on practice, this paper tries to seek for the feasibility of SBU (sinogram as basic unit) in practical teaching through studying and exploring this theory in the teaching context of Chinese pronunciation, vocabulary and text.The first section of this paper proposes and introduces SBU (sinogram as basic unit). The second section focuses on the causes of relevant studies and background information. With the "Teaching with indexing component" proposed by Mr. Zhang Pengpeng and "Teaching Chinese character with sinogram" by Mr. Pan Guowen as the theoretical basis, the third section studies the feasibility of SBU (sinogram as basic unit) in practical Chinese teaching through starting from single character and realizing the constant extension from single character to mixed character, then to word group, sentence and text.Combined with traditional Chinese teaching methods and ideas, this paper makes attempts and summaries to SBU (sinogram as basic unit) teaching. Based on the "phonological symlol" features of Chinese character, creative summaries and conclusions are also made to major single characters with the function of phonetic representation, which will bring convenience to the memorizing and consulting of Chinese learner.Starting from the development law and features of Chinese character, this paper promotes its status in Chinese teaching and pulls it out from the single function as a recording symbol of Chinese language by integrating the character into the comprehensive teaching of the four language functions of "listening, speaking, reading and writing", thus to enable learners the most regulate study and a solid foundation of Chinese. |
