Verbal communication and nonverbal communication are two forms of human communication. This article focuses on the importance of nonverbal communication in teaching Chinese as a foreign language, the reasons which cause the difference between Chinese and western on nonverbal communication in TCSL, the application of nonverbal communication in foreign language classroom, how to consciously use nonverbal communication in TCSL and analysis the problems which we need to paid attention to when using.This article is divided into three chapters, the first chapter is mainly define nonverbal communication in foreign language classroom, the overview of classification, emphasize the importance of nonverbal communication in foreign language classroom by elaborating its status, function and significance. The second chapter is the key of the article, in which the author mainly discuss the application of nonverbal communication in TCSL and divide this chapter into teaching consciousness, teaching skills and teaching methods though combining with the actually teaching experience. Teaching consciousness started with the expression of love, encouragement and responsibility consciousness, teaching skills including attract attention, inspire thinking, adjust atmosphere, mobilize enthusiasm and get feedback. As a teaching method, Nonverbal communication can be observed from vision, suggested method, the whole body reaction method combined with other auxiliary method. The third chapter analysis the reasons that causing nonverbal communication errors, which offering a certain reference for teachers in TCSL, mainly discuss from the differences about nonverbal communication in different culture, the differences between the teaching environment and teaching Suggestions three aspects. The author elaborate the differences about nonverbal communication in different culture from three aspects, refers to a cultural implication in A is completely lost in B culture or partly lost and a cultural implication in A culture has ambiguity meaning in B culture; Teaching environment differences is analysis from inside and outside the classroom, the different culture between Chinese and foreign countries as well as the different learner; teaching suggestions begin with strengthening the awareness of different consciousness of nonverbal implication cultural, according to the specific teaching environment and different learners adopt properly adopt appropriate teaching language.This article aims to probe into the application of nonverbal communication in TCSL, put forward some ideas about nonverbal communicative behavior which the teacher should paid attention to, build a harmonious and friendly environment for foreign students and keeping a happy learning environment for them, thus fully mobilizing the enthusiasm of students, at the same time it is good for teacher guiding role, finally achieving the best effect in TCSL. Combining nonverbal communication and TCSL, makes it more reasonable when using nonverbal communication in foreign language class, hoping provide some advice for Chinese as a foreign language teacher’nonverbal communication behavior in the classroom.
