Vague language is a common phenomenon in every language. It can make the conversation flexible and achieve some specific communicative effect. In the site of Chinese-English consecutive interpreting, speakers speak in fuzzy ways due to different reasons, which place higher demand for the interpreting work. Therefore, it is necessary for the interpreters to get to know more information about vague language as well as correct tactics to deal with when interpreting. In Chinese-English consecutive interpreting, the interpreting of vague language should follow the principle of functional equivalence and context connected:on the basis of correctly understanding of the meaning of source language, the interpreter have to take into account the context, the cultural background of source language and the target language, and give audience the correct version. The two ways of interpreting Chinese vague language into English are changing the vague language into vague language or precise language. Master the correct interpreting tactics can help interpreters to improve working efficiency; to promote the exchange of speakers and listeners and to improve interpreting quality. Studying the tactics not only can further theoretical study and interpretation of linguistic fuzzy relations, but also promote interpreting practice.
