Ci was used to be called “the poem that has long and short sentences” or “the affiliate ofpoem”.In the beginning, it was the lyrics for tunes and singing, so it was also called “songs oftunes”before. There are two source of Ci: the first is it may have its origin from Yuefu songs, thesecond it is originated from latest poem. After the Song Dynasty, the tunes got lost gradually, soCi had beginning to be separated from the tunes, and came to be an independent form of theliterature. Just as Sir Wang Li said,“Ci is a kind of poem which have rhythm,long and shortsentences, and stationary number of words.” Summing-up articles and concluding differentkinds of cipai, and form a book which provide a guidance, this is called “cipu”.About the research of Ci, we consider it can be seperated into three parts:The first is aboutits history; the second is about its literature; the third is about its rhythm. From Ming Dynasty toQing Dynasty, the study of tonetic and rhythm have got great achievements, but there is alsosome notable phenomenon. Most cipu just came from masterpieces, which is not so perfect. Inaddition, some cipu is ether too few or too complex.As to the selection of materials, this book collects the works of Quan Song Ci, which wasedited by Tang Guizhang, at the same time,it will supplement the works with Selections ofSongci edited by Kong Fanli, Selections of Songci of Song and Jin Dynasty edited by Shi Zhecun,the Revised Quan Songci with Detailed Notes, and Sellections of Songci. This paper is a researchof the works of ninety-eight、ninety-nine and a hundred and one words exhaustively in QuanSong Ci. We label every word’s initials, finals and tones,discuss each cipai systematically, andconclude their rhythm. We find their comprehensive forms, and correct some error, which haveimmense means of inspiration and reference.This paper consists four parts:The first part is introduction. It includes the reason of the research,the method and style.The first section includes the history of Ci,the achievements and problems of the study ofcipu,and expounds the significance of the reach. The second section introduces the method ofselection, statistics and analyse, and the style of the paper.The second part is a brief summary of metrical lyrics. It includes three sections. The firstsection introduces cidiao and cipai, the second section introduces the kind of rhythm, the thirdsection introduces rhythm of sentences that have different words. The third part is the analysis of specific Cipu formats. This is the main part of the paper.With detailed statistics, we analyze and study works of ninety-eight、ninety-nine and a hundredand one words exhaustively in Quan Song Ci,each cipai including four aspects, the introductionof Cipai, the general condition, the systematic analysis and summary.The forth part is the conclusion. This part summarizes the main contents of this paperbriefly.
