A Study On The Relationship Between Interpersonal Relationship And Coping Style Of Secondary Vocational School Students And Its Intervention

This research uses the interpersonal relationship scale and coping style scale to survey about 639 middle school students of two middle schools in Shanghai.In these two school, one is a normal high middle school, the other is a middle school for occupation. Base on the survey,the research analysised the current situation of interpersonal relationship and the coping style of middle school student, and compared the current situation and characteristics of secondary vocational school student and senior high school students in interpersonal distress and coping style.Under the subsequent of intervention studies, to study if the coping style orientation of group psychological counseling is working to the secondary vocational school students’ interpersonal relationship,we choosed the subjects based on the interpersonal comprehensive diagnostic scale,the students who with scores greater than or equal to 15 points are choosed as the research object of the intervention.There are 23 students at last.And then we depart these students to two groups.One is the experimental group with 10 students,the other is the control group with 13 students.The researchers designed a set of coping style orientation interpersonal group counseling program to intervene the experimental group for correctting their negative coping style improving their level of interpersonal relationship. The researchers conducted a follow-up survey three months later after the group counseling intervention. Based on the statistical analysis, draw some conclusion as follow:(1) There was significant correlation between the coping style and interpersonal relationship in these middle school students. Solving the problem, seeking social support these two factors have negative predictive effects on the degree of interpersonal harassment, while patience, escape, fantasy and denial these three factors’ effect are positive.(2)The results show that, ordinary high school students use the positive coping style more often,while the secondary vocational school students use negative coping style more.(3)Most middle school students have a good interpersonal relationship, whether secondary vocational school students,their average score is lower than the average score of interpersonal division(<8). But the coping style factors in gender and grade these demographic variables showed significant differences.(4) The Coping Orientation group counseling program to improve the level ofinterpersonal relationship has been proved effective,feasible and scientific. It not only will change the negative coping style to be positive and mature, but also improve students’ interpersonal relationships. By tracking the study,we found that there are persistent effects in this scheme to improve coping style and the level of interpersonal relationship.
