With the upstream mining sector going well, natural gas industry has been in highdevelopment for several decades. Many gas mines step into the last period. The formationpressure is too low to reach the qualification for production and transportation of natural gas.So booster pumping station has became an efficient mean to solve the issues mentioned above.Natural gas pipeline transportation process involves the compressor, pressure piping, pressurevessels and other special equipment. There are many different types of productions whichhave high temperature, high pressure, inflammable, explosive, toxic and corrosivecharacteristics.According to all these features of natural gas pipeline transportation, making acomprehensive and systematic safety evaluation depending on the efficient safety evaluationmethod, can accurately identify the significant security risks in production process.Establishing accurate and reliable risk control measures, can promote safety managementlevel of the whole station on natural gas pipeline transportation, and get the risks undercontrol.Due to the features which are abstract and complex of natural gas booster pumpingstation security factors, it is difficult to directly measure quantitatively. Fuzzy comprehensiveevaluation method ignores the relationship between the various factors. It will affect theawareness of safety manager about the booster station current security status, and be not goodfor safety management to carry out. Structural equation modeling (SEM) can analyzecausality between variables quantitatively by means of statistics. The method covers theshortages of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation. It makes the evaluation results closer to theactual site, and puts forward to provide a better basis for security control measures.According to accident causation theory, the paper analyzed the unsafe potential factors innatural gas booster pumping station from the quality of personnel, equipment situation,environmental conditions and management four areas. On the basis of the analyses above,establish the scale of natural gas booster pumping station insecurity potential factors.Introduce structural equation. Establish structural equation model and roadmap of natural gassafety factors. And then solve the model with actual research data to get each factor’s directlyeffects, the indirect effects and total effects to the security of natural gas booster pumpingstation.The structural equation model established above is used to make safety evaluation inWoBei booster pumping station. It shows that the safety situation of WoBei booster pumping station is in good level. Security awareness and attitudes, safety training and maintenance ofequipment are faulty aspects among all the main factors. The Paper proposed securitycountermeasures to WoBei booster pumping station in the above-mentioned aspects.
