Since the reforming and opening up, the total economic output of Henan province is even to new heights and made remarkable achievements, while has played an important role in driving the rise of Central China. But also have to see, Henan economic development is still not get rid of extensive growth mode, which is mainly manifested in the big resource and energy consumption, irrational economic structure, lack of self-innovation capability and so on, these problems have seriously restricted the economic development quality of Henan Province, they are also not conducive to economic and social comprehensive, coordinated and sustainable development. In 2007, the party's 17th national congress clearly put to accelerate the transformation of the country's economic pattern, promote the upgrading of the industrial structure, and also made a scientific summary of the basic ideas of transformation of the mode of economic development. The transformation of the mode of economic development is in line with the reality of China, it points out the way and the guidelines which China should choose and obey ,it also points out the direction for Henan Province to change the mode of economic development.This paper, with the scientific development view and transformation of the mode of economic development as the guiding ideology, followed the way of questioning, analyzing and problem-solving, through the analysis and absorption of the existing research at home and abroad, combined with the actual situation of Henan Province, by using of literatures, comparative analysis and standard analysis. The paper probed into the problems of Henan economic development mode, and pointed out the way Henan Province should choose.Aiming at the transformation of the mode of economic development in Henan Province, this paper mainly studied from five aspects:The first part is the introduction. Mainly to study the background and meaning of proposed; introduces and elaborates domestic and foreign relevant theory and research, describes the research ideas and methods, and the possible innovations and deficiency in the paper.The second part is the theoretical basis of transformation of the economic pattern. Discusses the definition of the transformation of the mode of economic development; More detail introduced the transformation of the mode of economic development theories, such as classical economic growth theory, neo-classical economic growth theory, new economic growth theory and the scientific concept of development, which laid a theoretical foundation for this paper.The third part is the significance of transformation of the mode of economic development. Introduces the exploration of economic development strategy since the founding of new China; Points out the problems of pursuing GDP growth alone brings; expounds the significance of transformation of the mode of economic development.The fourth part is the existing problems of economic development mode of Henan Province. Economic development of Henan province certainly made great achievements ,but through making a detailed explanation by longitudinal and transverse comparison, the paper points out the main problems existing in economic development of Henan Province.The fifth part is the reform path of the mode of economic development of Henan Province. According to the analysis of existing problems of the economic development in part four, using economic development related theory and reference to other countries ;gives the suggestions for Henan Province.
