ABSTRACT:As one of the most creative and innovative group, tech-oriented small-to-medium scale enterprises(TSSEs) are the main body of technology innovation and the engine of economic development as technology innovation plays a key role in competitiveness-enhancing and sustainable development of TSSEs. However, a majority of TSMEs have less identify of the features of their life cycles and a lack awareness of innovation mode to be chosen, which both have harmful effluence on the distribution of resources and efficient of innovation activities. Thus, it becomes a hot topic for TSSEs to study the different technology innovation modes based on their life cycles and put forward the optional choice of technology innovation adapted to them.On basis of summarizing the enterprise life cycle and technology innovation, this paper respectively analyzes advantages and disadvantage internal and external environment of technology innovation for TSSEs, it comes to the author that it's necessary and feasible to undertake technology innovation. Then, the author differentiates the three typical modes of technology innovation which are independent innovation, simulating innovation and cooperative innovation. After that, by figuring out the key points to be considered while choose technology innovation modes, the optional choice of technology innovation for TSSEs to be undertaken based on life cycle theory have been proposed. This paper also puts forward that in order to promote core competitiveness and sustainable development, gradual improvement in internal administrative control, organizational model, marketing and enterprise culture should be accorded to technology innovation. For the last part, a case of the company that the author serves for has been studied in order to test the modes mentioned in the former parts. |
