The production and circulation of the counterfeit and shoddy products cause serious damage to the interests of the state, the collective, the consumers and the manufactures, even to the security of people's health and property. Product traceability is an important component of the production management system. Among the developed countries, a sound management system has been already established in the government and the enterprises. With the implementation of the defect product recall system, product traceability and traceability system have immediately aroused attentions from the society. RFID-based data collection technology with the property of low cost and high-technology has got general concerns from the enterprises and the academia. RFID could be used to track and trace the product supply chain to ensure the security of the products in the process of the circulation. The concoct difficulty could be largely improved by combining with the existing information security technology. The exploitation of the RFID-based product quality traceability system could provide access to the check-up of the product quality and the product traceability for the consumers and the manufactures, and it also helps to find the quality problem in the source and eradicate the circulation of the counterfeit and shoddy products.The paper is divided into four parts. The first part contributes to introduce the characteristics and the basic theories of the RFID and its current state of development. It proves out the superiority of the quality traceability with the RFID technology after the contrastive analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of the Identification Technology. In order to trace the related information to look into the quality information identification, it is necessary to encode the relative parts to separate with the information about other parts. So, the second part mainly focuses on the research of the product identification technology and the technology of the quality information encoding. In the third part, the author establishes a model of the quality information traceability process of the supply chain products and puts forward the method to collect and process the product quality information of all the related manufactures in the scope of the supply chain by establishing the RFID-based supply chain quality information traceability system, as well as the storing method of the quality information data. In the process of the quality information sharing, the supply chain related manufactures could trace the quality information about the whole process of the product production when the quality problems occur, and by this way, we could enhance the responding speed of the product quality problems and the traceability of the product quality information. In the fourth part, through the studying of the production characteristics and the operation process of the automotive transmission manufactures, the author tries to exploit the most suitable quality information traceability system for the enterprises without increasing the labor cost. The author also researches on the quality information management system used by the present enterprises and try to achieve the compatibility. At last, the author makes a summary of the paper and also gives an outlook of the research.The final result of the paper:construct a practical, low-cost RFID-based quality traceability scheme, work out a model of the RFID-based product quality traceability system and lay the foundation for the further study.
