Preliminary Research On Tourist Sustainable Development In Enshi

The tourism of Enshi Autonomous Prefecture has come to the view of the people after ten years' rapid development. In 2010, Enshi, which had been awarded as "Population Action China", attracted the tremendous tourists with its pure beauty. With the development of Enshi's tourism, many studies on it went to existence, however, there are few researches about the sustainable development of its tourism. The author analyses the advantages, disadvantages and the development momentum of Enshi's tourism based on its current situation. Enshi's tourism enjoys its blessed strong points, especially its breath-catching natural landscape and its distinguished customs and folk culture are the most important resources for the tourists. In addition, its location advantage, its present promising development opportunity and its burden-free advantage of newcomer all lay a good basis for Enshi' tourism. However, it also has distinct disadvantages. The disadvantages in transportation, in talents and in tourist facilities hinder the development of Enshi's tourism. At present the overall situation of its tourist development really gets something to celebrate.It is essential to make clear of the state of Enshi' tourist sustainable development. Therefore, the author builds up the index systems of Enshi' tourist sustainable development with reference to those designed by many famous scholars. Through careful analysis on these index systems, she draws a conclusion that Enshi' tourism fails to achieve the state of sustainable development, but only at its basic period. Those dates of the key index elements demonstrate that there are three factors environmental, economic and social factors which restrain the every aspect of Enshi' tourist sustainable development. At last, the author puts forward the solutions to the problems and the strategies aimed to enforce the protection of Enshi' natural environment, to maintain good momentum of Enshi's sustainable development, and to secure its economic orderly growth. She advocates improving the tourist facilities and creating the image brand grounded in increasing people's job opportunities and people's disposable income. At the same time, we should make effective exploitation and protection of Enshi's customs and folk culture, to promote the well-being of the residents and the tourists, and finally to realize Enshi' tourist sustainable development.
