And the surrounding areas have an important role in promoting the Thai Economy.With the speedy progress in the International Economic integration and December 28, 1997 Thailand's WTO accession, ports play a more and more important role in nation economy and social development. The government of Thailand has proposed that " Major Ports, Industrial, Economic, Prosperity " and "Overall Port" of Strategic thinking, Through the large-scale of deep-water Ports and Port of Industries to promote the Economic Development of Thailand, In terms of Laem Chabang port this is a very good opportunity for development. Laem Chabang Port of equipment, facilities, management and the policy of environment will have certain advantages, But lack of terminals and also highlighted the problem of talent shortage. Moreover, Laem Chabang Port is not a Transhipment Port, and very high to dependence on the domestic economy, Singapore Port is also the powerful competitor, Development of opportunities and challenges are still coexist. Under the new circumstances, how Laem Chabang Port can keep exerting its function and ascendancy, speed up its growth to face challenge, hasten development together with city and speed up regional economy, provide thebetter service for the national economy, has been a vital strategic question that the Laem Chabang Port now face.In this paper, based on the research of ports'development, I attempt to propose Laem Chabang Port of history and the present condition, the geographical features, character and an effect, and SWOT analysis is also used in the paper to prove that Laem Chabang Port Development Strategy, through the analysis of its status, function in the colony, its demerit, and its status in the regional economic growth.
