Study On Urban Land Change And Driving Forces In Changde City

With social and economic development, China's urban land expandsrapidly. Many problems have occurred in the process of industrializationand urbanization. In this essay, we would like to take Changde city as ourfocus, and mainly discuss the changes of urban land and its drive force. Itwill give some useful suggestions for future urbanization in Changde city,help avoid some problems had encountered in the process of urbanizationin other cities. Also it will have great significance for the city to develophealthily, to enforce its farmland protection, tomake reasonable land usepolicies, and to improve land management regulations.Main content and conclusions of this paper are including:(1) This essay give summary about research theory, technology andmethod of land use change and the drive forces in China and abroad,which is a solid foundation for the research.(2) According to statistics of land usage change, we analyzedChangde city land's current usage and changing, and concluded thespecial features of Changde City's land, including the increasingconstruction land, the uneven growing speed, the difference amongdifferent regions, According to statistics of land usage change, weanalyzed Changde city land's current usage and changing, and concludedthe special features of Changde City's land, including the increasing construction land, the uneven growing speed, the difference amongdifferent regions, and centralisation in the urban.(3) From nature, society, economy and other points, we discuss thefactors influencing urban land use, and construct the drive forces indexsystem for Changde urban land use. Using SPSS software to analyzethese drive forces, we conclude the key driving force for every counties'urban land use in Changde City.The conclusion shows that the key driveforce for urban land usage in Changed are the proportion of the secondindustry and tertiary industry, and fix assets investment. From 1997 to2001, increasing in proportion of non-agricultural population causedChangde's urban land usage. From 2002-2005, economical growth causedthe increase usage of Changde's urban land. In relatively faster growingareas, like Wuling district, Simen county, and Dingcheng district, its keydrive forces are economical influence; and other counties's slow growthare because of social drive force.(4) According to the problems happed in urban land usage andinfluential changing drive force in Changde, we recommend somesuggestions and measures,including to strength the land use management,to improve land market, to use land intensively, to improve confiscationsystem, and to empower force for lawbreaking cases.
