The Study On The Difference Of Income Between Urban And Rural Residents In Xianyang City

With the constant deepening of reform and open-the-door, alongside the development of economic situation, the traditional distribution system of egalitarianism is gradually replaced by the income distribution system of"the combination of income according to one's labor and the distribution of productive elements with co-existence of multiple income distribution methods". Although the channels through which residents obtain their income are increasingly pluralistic, the income of peasants in the City of Xianyang in recent years has increased slowly due to a variety of factors and the difference between the income of rural and urban residents is taking on a look of constant expansion. In the initial stage of socialism, a certain degree of difference of income between residents is unavoidable. However, if we do not take any measure to control the excessive difference, it will produce negative effects on the economic development and social stability on the one hand, which will become the barrier to the construction of a harmonious society, and on the other hand, the deep-seated reason for the excessive difference of income between rural and urban residents is actually the issue of excessively low income for the peasants. Therefore, how to increase the income of peasants, how to plan the development of the rural and urban areas as a whole, and how to reduce the difference of income between rural and urban areas have become an issue which allows no avoidance for the all-round construction of a comfortably-off society in the City of Xianyang.First of all, the construction and variation trend of income between rural and urban residents in Xianyang City are analyzed from two perspectives of the actuality in developing economy and the regional conditions. With the analysis, the starting point of study is put forward. Secondly, according to the two indices of the average governable income per capita of townspeople and the average net income per capita of country people, a positivistic analysis is made of the class differences, trade differences and ownership differences of the urban residents as well as the regional differences of rural residents, etc. And thus the global variation trend and stage characteristics of the difference of income between urban and rural residents are observed. Thirdly, a discussion is made of the primary reasons for the difference of income between townspeople and country people in Xianyang City. A reasonable and appropriate criterion is presented to define the difference of income between townspeople and country people. Finally, policy suggestions are made to reduce the difference of income between townspeople and country people. The paper is divided into six sections.Section One Introduction.
