Along with the agricultural labors come into the cities, there are two different kinds of labor, the city labor market with citizens and the agricultural labor market with agricultural labors, constitute the city labor market. It is the typical dual characteristic of our country's city labor market. Compared with the citizens, it is obviously that the agricultural labors have lower position on employment departments and professional levels. Most of the agricultural labors can only be employed in lower level jobs with lower reward, social position and economic status. The human capital is not the only one which has big influence to occupation choices, but also the social capital. It is because that Jiangsu Province is one of the most developed provinces and also the one absorbs a large number of the rural labors, so we choose Nanjing for our investigation which is the capital city of Jiangsu Province. The research of the kinds of work of Nanjing agricultural labors has significance to the other developed cities of China in absorbing agricultural labors. In fact, the questionnaire survey and real diagnosis analysis to the agricultural labors in Nanjing indicated that we absorbed more labors from outside of the province as the speeding up development of economy, the accelerated development of external capital and the need of each kind of talented persons in the new turn of economic development. The investigation also demonstrated that the majority of the agricultural labors come from Anhui, Henan, Sichuan, Hubei and Hebei provinces. Although the agricultural labors capital's storage is small, and only concentrate on low technical professions, the individual differences were still remarkable for the professional kinds of work.In order to know how the human capital and social capital influence the kinds of agricultural labors' work, we use the theories and methods of the labor economics, the development economics and the econometrics based on the investigation data. And discover that the egress of countryside surplus labor is a complex process. We can not only summarize it to one or several factors. In a word, the factor differences are quite obvious to different professional kinds of works.
