The organizational diversity has becoming an increasing concern since 1990's.In theory, there is no consistent conclusion between the relationship of organizational diversity and the output currently, because it is very hard to measure the influencing variables, such as cultural difference, environment and so on.The top management team (TMT)is the tallest leadership layer of company, and the ones who make strategic decision. So it attaches great importance to the performance and development of the company. Its theories began from 1980's,and diversities have been the point of research ever since, which include diversities of age, gender, tenure, education(education type and education level),occupational experiments, and cognition. All these diversities constitute the structure of TMT.Diversities and performances are positively related according to general conclusions, but more and more evidence research found that there are much more in-between variables that influce. So the research of the relation between diversities and performance also hasn't got a consistent conclusion. There are not any reseaches about the relationship between gender structure of the TMT and the performance. So this text is trying to study the relation between the sex structure of the TMT and performance of the Chinese listed companies. The gender structure of TMT of listed companies include the number of women, the number of men and sex ratio. We select comprehensive performance indicators:financial benefit indicators, assets operating conditions, solvency conditions, the ability to grow condition, and cash flow situation, and select one to three factors from every indicator. It discovers that gender structure of TMT affect the company performance directly or indirectly.as the performance is also affected by some other intermediate variables such as the size of company, impact of gender on these indicators are different.
