Logistics Division And Cooperation In Yangtze River Delta Ports Group

Yangtze River Delta ports group is the most intensive and largest one among China's coastal ports group. The ports in the group belong to different local governments, so the conflicts of local government's interests, duplicated construction of ports and waste of ports' resources are obviously. Based on the common interests of Yangtze River Delta, and also taking the characteristics, special, economics, organization and environmental factors of Yangtze River Delta logistics industry into account, this paper adopts the Hierarchical Cluster Analysis (H.C.A.) method to illustrate how to fix a position and develop the Yangtze River Delta port logistics industry. According to the results, The Yangtze River Delta ports group could be divided into four classes: First, the international logistics hub ports are Shanghai and Ningbo-Zhoushan, Shanghai would become an international strategic pivotal port by developing international sailing courses, consolidating coastal line and transportation line in Yangtze River, while Ningbo-Zhoushan would become an important transit port and a supplement to Shanghai by taking a role in the international compete and developing international transit logistics; second, Nanjing and Suzhou would be the regional port logistics centers to connect with Shanghai, which would be ports to dispose branch line cargotainer; Third, Nantong and Zhenjiang would be an important port to costal transportation and a supply to the transoceanic transportation; Last, Lianyungang would be an important transfer logistics port, with the industrialization of North Jiangsu, Anhui and so on, it would be an important transfer terminal. Based on the scientifical position finding and proper planning, this paper propose the cooperation of the Yangtze River Delta ports group should be built, propel the unified planning and construction of the ports in the group, well establish the transportation network in the group, build the price mechanism of shipping cargotainer, deepen the cooperation of the transportation enterprises, finally lift the synthesis competitive power of the Yangtze River Delta ports group.
