Strategy is the support of the operation of company's objective, and gives the direction of detail operational plan. All apects of operation must surround the core of strategy. Michael E Portor from Harvard Business School puts forward the theory of Competitive Strategy from 1980's which is recognized and well practiced in international large- size enterprise. The essay studies the"Five Force Model"and"Three Strategy Model"and describes how the telecom enterprise operates as the core of competitive strategy. The essay adopts the case of Vodafone- the largest mobile communication co. in the world( based on the revenue size) to analyse how Vodafone forms its competitive strategy in the terms of market, IT, finance, internal management and its experiences of being success in serious competitive market of the world. The article also discusses how China Mobile Communication Corp. (China Moible) studies fromVodafone and adopts the benchmark method to improve its management. And it describes how China Mobile operates in according with"Cost saving","Differentiaion"and"Focus"strategy and forms its core of competitiveness.After China enters W.T.O, foreign capital inflows suddenly. China's telecom market must be much more competitive. The essay tries to use the case of Vodafone and China Mobile to provide some reference to China telecom enterprises.
