The development of ecology, society and economy of Taihang Mountain of Hebei province was directly influenced by tourist industry's development. Undoubtedly, tourism resource was the foundation of tourist industry. However, there was little research about the quantity characters of Taihang Mountain's tourism resources. It has become one bottleneck of the local tourism development. It was imperative for us to systematically analyze the quantity characters of Taihang Mountain's tourism resources.This research firstly investigated the tourism resources thoroughly according to the counties'administrative divisions and classified the tourism resources into 8 main classes, 23 sub classes, 68 basic types and 462 objects based on the"GB/T18972-2003".Then this paper researched the tourism resources from 5 factors, including abundance and density, combination condition and over-all advantage, average quality, diversity and special structure. In the analyzing progress, the 25 counties were divided into four regions: Baoding mountain area, Shijiazhuang mountain area, Xingtai mountain area and Handan mountain area. The results were as follows.(1) Abundance and Density: The abundant of Baoding mountain area was higher than the other 3 mountain areas and formed 41.99% of the whole area. The ratio of natural tourism objects'proportion and human tourism objects'proportion of the 4 mountain areas maintained 2:3. The areas which possessed higher abundance of all classes'tourism resources focused on Laishui, Wu'an and Xingtai. The density of Xingtai mountain area was highest among the 4 mountain areas. The arranging seats of abundance and density of the 25 counties were not unanimous, and Jingxing Mining Area'density seat increased most obviously.(2) Combination Condition and Over-all Advantage: The combination condition of Baoding was the highest among the 4 mountain areas. The combination condition of Laishui, Wu'an and Xingtai was higher than the other counties'. The over-all advantage of Baoding was highest among the 4 mountain areas. The over-all advantage of Laishui, Xingtai, Pingshan and Wu'an was higher than the other counties'.(3) Average Quality: The average quality of tourism resources of Taihang Mountain was 2.98. The average quality of site and relic tourism resources was the highest and tourist commodity's was the lowest among the 8 main classes. The average quality of Shijiazhuang and Handan mountain areas'tourism resources was higher than Taihang Mountain's. Lingshou'tourism resources'average quality was the highest among the 25 counties, while Xingtang and Shunping's were lower than the other counties'.(4)Diversity: The diversity index of architectural equipment tourism resources was the highest among the 8 main classes. The evenness degrees of water landscape, site and relic, architectural equipment and human activity tourism resources were higher than the other main classes'. The dominance degree of geographic landscape was the highest. The richness of astronomical phenomena and climate was the lowest. The diversity index and evenness degree of human tourism resources were higher than natural tourism resources. The dominance degree of natural tourism resources was higher than human's. The richness of human tourism resources was much more than natural's.(5) Spatial Structure: The national 4A grade scenic spots distributed uniformly in spatial distances and centralized in special quantities. The connectivity and accessibility of the national 4A grade scenic spots were not high. Especially the loop number, average shortest path matrix and compactness were bad.Finally, the author suggested that we should deeply excavate the areas'tourism resources which had low abundance and density; balance the ratios of different types of tourism resources; promote tourism objects'quality; make full use of the advantages of geographic landscape resources'high dominance degree and architectural equipment resources'large quantities and multi-types; strengthen traffic road networks'contribution and optimize the tourism resources'spatial structure.
