Supply Chain Management (SCM) becomes a hot topic of theoretic and application study in modern business environment, supplier evaluation and selection in the environment of SCM is the key factor to the success of a supply chain.This thesis first introduced related definition and theory of supply chain model, introduced retail industry's basic characteristics, analyzed the factors which may impact supplier selection in the environment of SCM and the importance of supplier strategic partnership relationships. Furthermore, the thesis addressed and established supplier selection criteria system through analyzing supplier selection requirements and criteria as well as relevant research results, analyzed and compared existing supplier evaluation methods, introduced AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) and FSE(Fuzzy Synthetic Evaluation); studied the feasibility of combination of these two methodologies. Finally, analyzed current supplier selection and evaluation methods of a Fortune 500 multi-national retail company, put forward combination of AHP and FSE to be applied into kitchen and home appliance supplier selection for the company. Based on the study, set up a model of supplier selection and proved the feasibility of the model in application through case study. |
