Energy-saving and environmental protection is the theme of automotive development in today's world. At present, emergence of various new energy automotive technology, but has not yet among the various technologies present a technology-oriented paradigm. The new energy vehicles provides China's automobile industry an opportunity for development. In this paper is to research the various new energy automotive technologies and our country how to achieve leapfrog development and direction of the path selection. In this paper, through theoretical discussion and empirical analysis, try to make a viable, practical leap-forward development path for new energy vehicles. Specific research includes the necessity analysis of development of new energy vehicles in China, SWOT analysis of China's automobile industry, Realization of the path about new energy technologies and development of new energy vehicles policy recommendations.First of all, this article describes the development of China's auto industry since the course of half a century. Then analyzed the increase in oil consumption problems, come to our country the necessity of the development of new energy vehicles.Again, the article with the method of SWOT, analysis the development of new energy vehicles in China's strengths,weaknesses,opportunities and threats. Although China has huge market, abundant labor resources and cheap land,raw materials, but China's own R & D capability is weak, the core technology controlled by others. Currently facing the car into a bottle of the traditional technology development path, the automobile industry has an opportunity of entered to a new technological paradigm, to eliminate the threat and rapid development.
