Mt. Huashan is located in Shaanxi Province of China. From the angle of tourism geology, the geosites value and development of Mt. Huashan are studied that based on the construction of geopark model. During the research, some systematical methods were applied such as field investigation, data collection, contrastive analysis and summarization. First, the analysis of regional geological background provides the the information on tectonic positions, stratigraphy, geological structure and main rock characteristics. The types of geosites are systematically divided according to national standards and geological cause. Mt. Huashan is the unique granite mountain-type landform characterized by high-mountain fault scarp and cliff. Secondly, the mechanism of evolution is grading discussed in the light of geological and geomorphological evolution, as well as the spacial distribution. Compared with the similar geosites and geolandscapes at home and abroad, the geosites value of Mt. Huashan is emphatically analyzed. Finally, follow the principle of " protecting and developingt at the same time", the geopark model is prominent from a variety of models to protect and utilize on geosites, and the construction of geopark is discussed.Mt. Huashan granite landform is the unique in high-mountain fault scarp and cliff type peak-ridge landform, including peak-ridge landscape, valley landscape, fault scarp and cliff, water erosion marks (rock waterfall), wind-erosion landform, stone-mortar, ancient planation surface, linear narrow gorge landform, resemble stone, gravity landform and other types of granite landforms. It is closely related with regional faults, the typical adolescent (middle stage) block mountain uplifting during the neo-tectonic movement. So it is significant in scientific research and popularization of geomorphology with great tourism value. Mt. Huashan adamellite rock, related to super-large molybdenite deposit of world and singular in type, has great value both scientific research and prospecting. There is a marked uplifted comparison and a huge landform contrast on the two sides of Mt. Huashan piedmont fault. The normal fault induced the magnitude 8 earthquake, is still active now, and the triangular facet is clear and complete. The Mt. Huashan piedmont fault is a window to monitor the laws of the neo-tectonic movement and the geometry, kinematics and dynamics. The tectonics position of Mt. Huashan is particular for the study on the features and mechanisms of basin-mountain coupling between Weihe graben basin and Qinling Mountains orogenic belt, is the focus and hot spots with global significance for the study of the world's continental dynamics, the mantle dynamics and the loess deposit during post-orogenic movement, play an important role in the geological evolution of the North China block, and effects of the Fuping movement, the Yanshan movement and the Himalayan movement in Mt. Huashan region for international comparisive significant. The special geological environment creates the special natural ecological value and the precious wealth of cultural heritage of Mt. Huashan.According to that value of resources, location environment, development foundation and the analysis of development models, the founding of high-mountain fault scarp and cliff type granite tectonic landform-rock categories geopark is a rational choice. The new systematic constructive idea of multi-module come into being, including characteristic subdividing, intergrating point and sphere, combining geological and cultural heritage, the characteristic interpretation system for science popularization, constructing of the regional tourism network and innovating management system.
