Nowadays, the Management Information Systems (MIS) for electric power enterprises are mostly based on Client/Database Server architecture. There're plenty of faults existing in these systems, such as hard to maintain and hard to extend the functions. Upon this, we've developed a MIS for electric power enterprise based on Windows DNA and COM+. The system, a distributed application, is based on Client/Middle Server/Database Server. This paper introduces the design and realization of the MIS in details and expatiates some key technologies utilized by the MIS.First, this paper introduces some theories and technologies regarding to MIS, Windows DNA and COM+, especially the application of Windows DNA in modern MIS and the characteristics of COM+. In developing this MIS, we chose SQL Server2000 (Microsoft) as database server and Delphi 6.0 (Borland) as IDE to develop the client side software and the middle components. Both of these tools are introduced in this paper.Followed introductions are of the requirement analysis of this system and the design of databases. There're several parts such as introducing the function analysis of this system, the partition of function modules, the design principles and realization of the database. Finally, this paper chooses a subsystem ?File Manage System as an example to introduce the design and realization of COM+ components, the design of corresponding client programs in details.
